Paris Restaurants & Bars

Below are the spots we visited during our Winter 2022 trip to Paris. There was just so much good food it was hard to decide where to go – but you really can’t go wrong in Paris.

La Table JM

Our first meal in Paris and it was absolutely delicious. The presentation of the food was beautiful. We had upscale comfort food (burrata, chicken, steak, chocolate tort) presented beautifully and with ceremony. For my chicken, the plate with a drizzle of sauce was brought out first, followed by a small black casserole dish containing the chicken. The chicken was mixed and then served directly onto my plate. Mark’s steak was flaming. The hazelnut ice cream that came with the chocolate torte had edible gold leaf on it. Everything was divine and exactly what we wanted after a long flight and many months of dreaming about the food.

The Saint James Hotel

This was the hotel we stayed at and breakfast was included every morning. The croissants, brioche bread, jam, poached eggs, ham… everything was so delicious. However, this was open to guests and residents only.

The Library Bar at the Saint James

Stunning backdrop for a cocktail before or after dinner.

Le Scheffer

Traditional french bistro with a very bustling and lively scene.

Incredible profiteroles.

Le Cafe Marly

Good view but the breakfast menu was limited. It was very cold when we went for an early breakfast so we sat inside and the main draw of this restaurant is the view of the Louvre. I’d recommend enjoying beverages at a table outside to enjoy the view.

Le Castiglione

We stopped here for a bite while shopping in the area. A varied menu that had both french specialties and some fusion items like chicken spring rolls. Everything was tasty.

Buddha Bar Paris

Great cocktails, fun place to start a night out

Experimental Cocktail Club

Unique and creative cocktails, intimate neighborhood vibe

Le Diplomate Paris 17

Felt like a classic french bistro – no other tourists were in the restaurant.

My husband said it was the best burger he’s ever had.

My veal dish might have been my favorite dish on our trip.

Epicure

A truly magical experience. This is a meal that we haven’t stopped talking about since we’ve come home. Each dish was exquisite, surprising and delightful in the best way. We had the tasting menu which included the below savory dishes, along with several amuse-bouche to start with.

Cafe Belloy

Cute spot for lunch with amazing people watching.

I loved that they had escargots in the shell.

La Patisserie by Cyril Lignac

Everything was absolutely delicious. We regretted not coming here sooner so that we could try more.

L’Etincelle Paris

An old Hollywood vibe, great cocktails and people watching

Shabestan Champs-Elysees

Some of the best Persian food we’ve ever had.

Les Deux Magots

Touristy but fun to experience. You can get better food elsewhere.

Brasserie de L’Isle Saint Louis

The real motivator was getting to try the famous Berthillon ice cream we’ve heard so much about. We showed up too late and were delighted when we rounded the corner and saw a little ice cream stand in front of this cafe that serves it.
